In all likelihood, you will not die tomorrow. Have you wondered what will happen if you do though? Human beings are not immortal and we can pass away at any time for any number of reasons that do not involve getting hit by a bus. If you do not have an estate plan, you are leaving an awful lot of work behind you for someone else.
No one wants to think about his or her own death, but that is not an excuse for not making an estate plan. If you do not do it, then your loved ones will have to figure things out after you pass away. It will be much easier, cheaper and faster for you to do it now then to leave it up to your family. You know what you have. Your family might have a general idea, but they do not know the specifics and will have to learn them. Maybe you think an estate plan is expensive. Leaving everything to your family to sort out in Probate is even more expensive.
Getting your estate plan does not need to be difficult or painful. It’s just something that you need to do. An experienced attorney can make it easy on you. Schedule an appoint with one.
