Heath Ledger (1979-2008) – Actor & Music Video Director
Heath Ledger was an Australian actor and director. After performing roles in Australian television and film during the1990s, Ledger left for the United States in 1998 to develop his film career. He first gained recognition in the teen comedy 10 Things I Hat About You and, in his short career, he did nineteen films. A few months before his death, Ledger had finished filming his performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight. Ledger received numerous accolades for his critically acclaimed performance in the film, Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, a Best Actor International Award at the 2008 Australian Film Institute Awards, for which he became the first actor to win an award posthumously, 2009 Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture.
Heath Ledger died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. He is survived by his daughter Matilda. Ledger died with an out-of-date Will. The Will was made three years prior to his daughter’s birth and leaves everything to his parents and sister.
