What is Your Problem?

February 4, 2015 by Stephen A. Mendel, Estate Planning Attorney

You have undoubtedly heard over and over again the many reasons why you need an estate plan. If you have not, take some time to read some older posts on this blog. We have talked about the subject many times. Most Americans do not have an estate plan. Many of them are like you. They look for information about estate planning in places like this blog. They read the reasons why they need an estate plan. Yet, there is something that stops them from taking the next step and calling an estate planning attorney to get the process started.

That is the real problem. People know they need estate plans, but something prevents them from getting one. If you do not have an estate plan, then take some time to think about why you have not gotten one yet. Is there some kind of emotional obstacle that holds you back? Are you afraid to think about your own mortality? Do you think that getting an estate plan is too expensive or too time-consuming? Do you think getting an estate plan is too difficult?

Whatever your individual reasons for not getting an estate plan are, we would love to address them with you. We can help you overcome the problems, but only after we know what they are. If you would like to talk about it, we would love to hear from you.
