McCulloch County is located in the smack dab middle of Texas! While there’s debate about the official location of the geographic center of Texas, small town Brady holds the title. This is signified on a stone monument in front of their courthouse.
In fact, the geographical center of Texas is located in northeastern McCulloch County at 31°21′ north latitude and 99°14′ west longitude, sixteen miles northeast of Brady. This puts the official center of Texas somewhere between Brady and Brownwood in a tiny town called Rochelle. All three cities have at one point or another claimed the title, The Heart of Texas.
Even in the Mendel Law Firm office, one of our staffers commented that her family swears that their ranch, located just on the edge of Rochelle, is the actual center! Whatever the reality, Texans have a big heart for their home state. At the Mendel Law Firm, L.P., we care about the history and legacy of our great state and our clients. If you wish to preserve your wealth and legacy, consider contacting the Mendel Law Firm, L.P. at www.mendellawfirm.com for a free initial consultation on estate planning, trust planning, and/or probate issues.
