Texas History – What was the “Lost Battalion”?

One unit of the Thirty-Sixth Infantry Division, the Second Battalion of the 131ST Field Artillery, comprised of young men from farms and small towns in north-central Texas, became known as the "Lost Battalion" when it dropped out of sight for more than a year after its capture by Japanese forces in Java in early 1942. Texas History – Do You Know the State Motto of Texas?
